This is the recreation using as many of the original parts as have survived (radiator, engine, gearbox and back axle for a start) of one of the team of three cars built for the 1928 200 Mile Race at Brooklands, in which Kaye Don’s sister car finished a very creditable third, and (most of) this car mixed it with the Grand Prix Delages and Bugattis for six laps before retiring.
It used the earlier (and lighter) L type chassis, as did the 1926 “Lobster” racing car, of which it was the natural successor, but with the rear springs raked upwards, a strengthened back axle, and a more powerful engine.
